Climate Launchpad – Competition 2016

Climate-KIC’s ClimateLaunchpad aims at unlocking Europe’s cleantech potential that addresses climate change. The competition creates a stage for those ideas. ClimateLaunchpad is part of the Entrepreneurship offerings of Climate-KIC. The competition works in three rounds: * Round 1: Boot Camp A National Jury selects a minimum of 7 business ideas per country for participation in the 2-day (National) Boot Camps. * Round 2: Intensive coaching and national finals Boot camp is followed-up with a six-week period with six intensive coaching sessions. After that, startups are ready to rock the national finals where they’ll pitch in front of the national jury. The Top-3 of each country will enter the EU finals.* Round 3: European final In this ultimate final, startups will pitch their idea in front of the EU’s leading investors and entrepreneurs. They will receive valuable feedback and get a chance to discuss their idea in more detail during network sessions. Prize money: * 1st price: € 10,000.* 2nd price: € 5,000.* 3rd price: € 2,500. These three winners will also get accepted into the Climate-KIC Accelerator, the rock solid 18-month program where great ideas grow into great businesses.The competition is open to entrepreneurs based in Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Moldova, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Scotland and the United Kingdom which: * have not yet started a business or you started it less than one year ago;* have no substantial revenue;* have attracted no more than € 200,000 in investment;* have not yet sold products, solutions or prototypes on commercial terms.Timeline: * Submission deadlines vary depeding on the country (all in the range between April, 21st, 2016 and June, 23rd, 2016)* National Boot Camps will take place between May, 4th, 2016 and July, 8th, 2016 and National Finals between June, 16th, 2016 and September, 7th, 2016, depending on the country in both cases.* European Final will take place in Tallinn October, 7th and 8th, 2016.
