bIoTope develops a dozen of smart city proofs-of-concept/pilots, implemented in three distinct cities/regions (Helsinki, Grand Lyon, Brussels Region). In order to engage local developer communities, a set of Open Calls will be organized from June to December 2017, with an amount of funding available which may vary from € 50,000 to € 150,000). This open calls organized during the use case piloting aims at:* Selecting additional partners which provide competences and technologies needed for the successful completion of the projects and also broaden the bIoTope community.* Engaging local developer communities and expanding the scope and scale of the pilots. Targeted specific calls for tenders for potential suppliers will be launched, during extensive piloting periods, to acquire additional and complementary competences that may be needed. bIoTope (Building an IoT OPen innovation Ecosystem for connected smart objects) project is funded by the Horizon 2020 programme under Call ICT30: Internet of Things and Platforms for Connected Smart Objects and aims at laying the foundation for open innovation ecosystems, where companies can – with minimal investment – innovate by creating new Systems-of-Systems (SoS) platforms for connected smart objects.
