OpenAxel 2016 Silicon Valley Immersion Bootcamp

(09-18 February 2016)

The 9 winners, from more than 1100 applicants, of the second OpenAxel contest, took part in an intensive Immersion Bootcamp in Silicon Valley with workshops, masterclasses, face to face meetings with investors, mentors, executives, entrepreneurs and visits to Universities, corporations, VC funds and accelerators.

From February 9 to 18, OpenAxel organized its Silicon Valley Bootcamp for the second contest winners. These winners (RemoteEye, Nnergix, Ojoo, Xetal, DiabetesLab, Momit, Stay App, Viomedo and Brain+) had the chance to participate in several activities with the objective of getting a glimpse of the ecosystem and the requirements to be successful there.

These activities combined:

-Masterclasses on Financial and Banking issues (Silicon Valley Bank), legal issues (Reed Smith LLP) and European institutional support there (EIT Digital)

-Pitching sessions with investors: Telefonica Ventures and Institutional Venture Partners

-Workshops in successful corporations like Uber and TokBox

-Meetings with accelerators such as Plug and Play and 500 Startups

-Mentoring sessions with Idean and Transfluent Founders

-Visits to the two main Universities there: Stanford and Berkeley.

On top of this, the teams were invited to the main networking event in the valley: Rosewood Hotel Cocktail!

Although the agenda was hectic, the teams also had the opportunity to have some free time to arrange their own meetings and take part in some leisure activities!!

Thanks to all of those who have made this incredible bootcamp possible!
